Symposium on Something or Other
somewhere in Spain, sometime in July

Introduction

Since the early days of Artificial Intelligence, many have argued that the techniques of interest here are central to human common-sense reasoning and problem solving and to the ability of computer systems to reason effectively in complex domains.

The primary use of these techniques has been to overcome computational intractability by decreasing the combinatorial costs associated with searching large spaces. In addition, these techniques are useful for knowledge acquisition and explanation generation in complex domains.

This Conference and Associated Conferences

After a series of several international symposia (first location, second location, third location, and so forth), this Symposium will be held in July at a castle in Spain, not far from a coastal city.

The symposium will be co-located with the another symposium, which will be held at the same castle immediately beforehand. It will be followed by another conference, which will be held not too far away.
