Partner Program


The ILO Partner Program is a mechanism for organizations to contribute to the International Logic Olympiad (ILO) through (1) local support for education in Logic, (2) recruitment of ILO participants, and (3) hosting of local competitions leading up to the Junior and/or Senior Logic Olympiad final competitions. This document summarizes details related to the hosting of 2026 local competitions.


Event Timeline (2026)

Registration Opens: January 14
Registration Closes: March 18

Preliminary Round:
Junior: April 18–19 (depending on time zone)
Senior: April 25-26 (depending on time zone)
Finalists Announced: May 4
Final Round (Stanford University – Junior & Senior): July 1–3

Preliminary Round Overview

Format
Study materials for senior olympiad are provided online for free
All students must complete the official preliminary round to qualify for finals.
Senior Division: Hybrid
In-person required where a local partner exists
Online option for students without a local partner in their area
Junior Division: In-person only (no online option)

Divisions
Junior ILO: Ages ~11–14 (middle school)
Senior ILO: Ages ~14–18 (high school)
Local partners may host Junior, Senior, or both.

Responsibilities

Student
Registers via the Luminas website and pays registration fee
Provides laptop / tablet with modern browser and Wifi capability
Appears at the testing site on time with picture ID

Local Partner
Promotes the competition within region (where possible)
Provides a quiet, secure testing environment with stable WiFi
Checks student IDs and reports attendance to Luminas
Ensures proper proctoring and academic integrity
Follows all local laws related to hosting events
Maintains Communication with Luminas

The local partner’s primary responsibility is to run the preliminary round smoothly with stable WiFi, proper seating, and fair proctoring.

Luminas
Manages registration
Provides online preliminary test with automatic grading of results
Shares participant lists and updates partners every other week

Financial Arrangements

Luminas
Collects registration fees from participants
Provides scholarships for participants with demonstrated financial need
Local Partner
Covers any costs associated with hosting local tests
Receives 20% of fees collected by Luminas for local participants

Luminas uses registration fees to cover its costs, to incentivize local partners, and to cover incidental costs of running the final competition at Stanford University. Stanford University provides all educational materials, test questions, and test management software free of charge.
