Note: some fonts (esp. serif vs. sans-serif) render the characters slightly differently. Phi in particular has a few variations. In some cases, lowercase phi is a circle with a line through it, which some fonts use to mean the uppercase version; but in general a circle with a line through it, where the line has "feet" (serifs) on the extremities is agreed to be an uppercase phi.
