The Elliot Program Center is near Lake Lagunita at Stanford University. Map of Lake Lagunita

Driving To the Palo Alto Transit Center

You do not want to drive on the Stanford campus. Parking places are difficult to find and parking spaces are few and expensive. It is best to take the free Marguerite bus, starting at the Palo Alto CalTrain Station. Park in the public parking lot. Purchase a 24 hour ticket for $2.00. Walk back to the marked Marguerite Bus stop at the center of the circular drive (not in the actual city bus transit center) and catch the B Line Clockwise bus.

Take the bus until the corner of Santa Teresa Street and Lomita Drive (the previous stop is Tressider.) Use the map above to walk to the Elliot Program Center on the other side of the lake. Suggested: Stroll throug the New Guinea Sculpture Garden, walk up the lake berm, and stroll around the lake until you reach the Elliot Program Center, which has a small wooden bridge extended to the lake berm.

From Highway 101 North :

Take the University exit West. Drive through downtown Palo Alto. Go under the train underpass and take the first right. Circle around until you can exit left into the public parking lot.

From Highway 101 South:

Take the Embarcadero exit. After passing the Town & Country Village shopping center on the right, turn left at the light onto El Camino Real. After the next light, exit right towards Palm Drive/University Drive. Turn right into the circle drive, before the light. Turn right into the public parking lot.

From Highway 280 North & South:

Exit Sand Hill Road east toward Stanford. Continue east, turning right on to El Camino Real after passing the Stanford Shopping Center on the left. As you cross the next light at Quarry Road, be in your right-hand lane and take the exit to Palm Drive/University Drive: do not go under the underpass. Turn left at the light. You are crossing the overpass back over El Camino Real. Then turn right at the next light, at the end of the overpass. Turn right into the public parking lot.

If you must drive

Then use this map of the Stanford Campus and and search on "Faculty Club". You should park in a visitor space in back of the club. It is a very short walk to Lagunita from here.

If you are driven

Then refer your driver to this map of the Stanford Campus and search on "Elliot". The actual driving instructions are as follows from Highway 280:

Exit Sand Hill Road east toward Stanford. Continue east, turning right at the traffic light on Santa Cruz Avenue. Make an immediate left onto Junipero Serra Boulevard. Turn left at the second stoplight, Campus Drive East. Continue around Campus Drive East and turn left when you reach Mayfield Ave. Turn left at the next stop sign after driving one block. Go straight through one stop sign. At the next stop sign, turn right on Lomita Dr. After one and a half blocks, turn left onto Santa Teresa Drive. Go straight through the next stop sign. As you near a bend, turn left on Governor's Ave, Go to the end of the street (about 150 yards) until you reach a barrier and a "Do Not Enter" sign, and turn left. Drive about 50 yards until on your right you see another barrier. Enter the barrier by driving between the curb and the physical barrier in the road, (but be careful not to drive over the barrier, as it will ruin your car) and drive about 40 yards until you reach a parking space. The Elliot Program Center is the large building facing the lake.
